Calm

Hoberman Sphere: Student-led

Read Mindful Moments. Remember a time when you had a test and you were worried about passing but you did a great job? What helped you stay focused? What words can you say to yourself when you are worried?

Activate

Pinwheel Breath: Have students think of an “I can” statement they can repeat as they exhale/inhale.

Downward Dog: Students can feel strong and grounded to the earth and centered in their body, repeat “I can” statements along with Yoga Calm Ground Rules.

Table: Move into all fours, check for alignment, feel strength in their limbs and the support provided.

Cat/Cow: Have students inhale and exhale in cat/cow, pointing out how their backs allow for strength and flexibility, which is helpful in test-taking.

Alternate Arm/Leg or Superman: Students can begin with one arm moving and build to opposing leg/arm (reinforcing their strength and abilities) or superman, which allows for all limbs to be activated and feel strong.

Child’s Pose: Students can repeat their “I can” statement and imagine themselves taking their test and handling it with ease.
