Have students think about earth and the natural world…ask them to identify images in nature that are part of the earth.
Volcano: State I am a volcano imagining your breath rising from deep in the earth (do five times).
Mountain: State I am a mountain standing still with your feet grounded (five breath counts).
Upward Mountain: Move into without statement.
Crescent Moon: State I am the moon gently moving from side to side, holding the moon in hands (five breath counts).
Star: State I am a star activating and spreading feet wide and arms out (five breath counts).
Tree: State I am a tree moving into tree pose (five breath counts).
Pinwheel Breath: State I am wind blowing the branches on the tree; challenge for the breath to be slow and steady/fast and furious.
Have students draw a picture of these images, asking them to reflect on what it felt like to be a specific part of the earth.
