- Yoga Calm Guidelines
- Principle written on board – ask kids why important
- Use cards to check in on feelings-“Mixed emotions deck”
Calm
- Belly Breathing – with stuffed animal on belly- try to be so still, does not fall off belly
- Mindful Moment Card – Remember a time…
(Ask students to share if want)
Activate
- Roots – can you be still stay still for 10 beats of drum after rooted?
- Tree – Let wind blow through branches then become still again
- Eagle – once perched try to stay still for 5 beats of drum (watch and feel calm)
- Activate/Relax Walk – with stillness theme- creatures of animals in forest that stay very still:
- Frog
- Spider
- Banana slug
- Deer
Calm
- Twist – with belly breathing for 20 seconds on each side (feel peaceful)
