Lesson Plan:

Calm

  • Chime – Close your eyes – Listen to the chime – focus on feeling the earth/floor beneath you it may feel like the rug’s been pulled out from beneath you, the world has shattered now that your loved one is gone, feel the earth
  • Belly Breathing – with Hoberman Sphere: 10 breaths

Activate

  • Mountain Pose – solid, stable, through all weather and years, never wavering
  • Roots – wind the roots down to the earth’s core, feel grounded and stable, let the wind begin to toss you around, shake up your world, like your grief, and you stay strong, connected to the ground
  • Woodchopper – imagine whatever it is that makes you angry or scared
  • Tree Pose – find balance, stay focused, you can do this, you can find balance even without the other leg/or the person that you have relied on, you can do this
  • Tree Circle – the importance of allowing others to help
  • Community Circle – writing down all those who are there to support you
  • On mat-Cobra – open your heart, let it breathe and heal
  • Child’s Pose – allow your feelings to be what they will be
  • Table Top – hold yourself up, find your strength and balance, keep steady and sturdy
  • Child’s Pose – return to what brings you comfort
  • Twist – wring yourself out side to side

Calm

  • Guided Imagery – Boat Ride
  • Volcano Breath – breathe in the good, breathe out the pain, breathe in the calm, breathe out the fear, breathe in the love, breathe out the sadness
