Yoga Calm Principle/Lesson Goal: Listening

Lesson Plan:

Calm

  • Intro – Cover your ears. Breathe with me while I do 5 breaths with the ball. Hoberman x 5 What did you hear? You can stop and listen to your body any time. Is your heart pounding? Is your breath slow or fast? You can listen to what’s going on around you too, any time. Sometimes it’s good to stop, take a breath, and just listen. Today we will practice listening.
  • Pulse Count

Activate

  • River Song Pose Flow:
    • Rock and Roll F/B Rock and Roll S/S Boat
    • Star/Hug x 5 (w or w/out twinkle twinkle song)
    • Mt Test
    • Mt – Up Mt – Forw Bend – Down Dog / Wag, pant – Cobra / Stretch your neck forward pushing through the grass – Down Dog – Walk feet up Up Mt – Hands to Heart
    • Warrior R – Warrior L – Mt – Up Mt
    • Forw Bend – Down Dog – Cobra – Child’s Pose
  • Mat 20 (as an alternative flow) – whisper
  • Mat Tag – with volume component – (You can laugh, but if sound raises above a nice medium level, I’ll freeze you and you will have to start again.)

Calm

  • Yoga Flow – Hands to heart; upward mountain; forward bend – head heavy like a bowling ball; down dog; plank; cobra; child’s pose. Comfortable position.
  • Peace Spray
  • Gymnopedie or Glockenspiel Song
