Yoga Calm Principle/Goal: Stillness
Stillness – Belly Breathing w/ Hoberman Sphere with a student leader (two times counting to five and one time having the leader choose the length of breathe). Volcano breathe with a student leader (three times).
Listening – Compliments for the leaders will be given.
Grounding – Roots and Upward Mt./Crescent Moon (students will imagine what it is like to be a still tree in the forest, then a tree blowing in the wind, and to be a still tree again).
Strength – Sun Salutation (middle section of Chair 15 to be done three times).
Community – Trust Walk (those students who are being led will be encouraged to focus on inner peace even in the midst of feeling anxious or fearful).
Stillness – Read “Get Away” from Ready…Set…R.E.L.A.X. (this story helps students learn that relaxing can help them solve problems).
