Lesson Plan:
Calm
- Pinwheel Breathing
- Belly Breathing – with Hoberman Sphere
- Read Book – Just Because I Am
- Listening Introduction – paper plate with a heart on it, talk about how the story will help us listen with our heart
- Strong Voice and Calm Voice – discussion
- Listen to Song – When You Look at Me, by Jack Hartman – about listening to the body
Activate
- Volcano Breaths
- Arm Swings – think of something strong as you inhale and exhale
- Roots
- Mountain
- Woodchopper – chop with a strong voice inside
Calm
- Twist
- Relaxation and Music – breathing with a stuffed animal on their bellies, play You Are Wonderful song by Red Grammer and then remind them of their strong voices and to think about some and then to think about some calm voices.
