Yoga Calm Principle/Lesson Goal: Listening

Lesson Plan:

Check-in

  • Go over yoga calm guidelines
  • Principle written on board- ask why important
  • Pick card from Louise Hay “Power Thoughts for Teens” (share card picked if like)

Calm

  • Listen to the Chime – ring chime and skis kids to raise hand when don’t hear any more
  • Child’s Pose – listen to your breath while in pose

Activate

  • Chair 15 – while doing each poses listen to surroundings and notice noises (ask kids what heard)
  • Archetype Game – while students are being different archetypes ask what they think they would hear if they were that person. (Ask kids to share what they think)
  • Compliment Game – focus on listening to compliments (grateful)

Calm

  • Volcano Breaths – really listen to what heart is telling you (ask kids to share if like)
  • Relaxation – from Ready, Set, relax-“Listen”(ask kids to share if like)
