Yoga Calm Principle/Lesson Goal: Listening
Lesson Plan:
Check-in
- Go over yoga calm guidelines
- Principle written on board- ask why important
- Pick card from Louise Hay “Power Thoughts for Teens” (share card picked if like)
Calm
- Listen to the Chime – ring chime and skis kids to raise hand when don’t hear any more
- Child’s Pose – listen to your breath while in pose
Activate
- Chair 15 – while doing each poses listen to surroundings and notice noises (ask kids what heard)
- Archetype Game – while students are being different archetypes ask what they think they would hear if they were that person. (Ask kids to share what they think)
- Compliment Game – focus on listening to compliments (grateful)
Calm
- Volcano Breaths – really listen to what heart is telling you (ask kids to share if like)
- Relaxation – from Ready, Set, relax-“Listen”(ask kids to share if like)
