Yoga Calm Principle/Lesson Goal: Stillness

Lesson Plan:

Intro Remarks: Find the stillness in our breath, poses, and selves. “I am strong, I am in control, I can do it.”

  • Seated Belly Breathing Grizzly – practice stillness
  • Leg Stretch
  • Rock N Roll 
  • Boat – stillness/focus
  • Roll up to Stand
  • Mountain
  • Up Mountain
  • Forward Bend
  • Bent Knee Lunge (right leg back)
  • Downward Dog
  • Plank
  • Cobra
  • Downward Dog
  • Bent Knee Lunge (left leg back)
  • Forward Bend
  • Chair
  • Up Mountain

  • Back Drawing (if time) IF NOT TIME FOR COMMUNITY do Volcano, send good thoughts
  • Alternating Arm/Leg Kicks – practice stillness

Relaxation: Changing Channels (snowball fight; swim party; cozy inside drinking cocoa and reading a book; forest walk/crossing a stream/strong person you trust to help you across; favorite place – take a snapshot; back to where we are now)


Reflections: Worked well. That was amazing!!! Timing. I wasn’t sure if we would have time for everything but it all fit really well within the hour. I could tell the girls were really working hard and trying their best.
