Yoga Calm Principle/Lesson Goal: Community

Lesson Plan:


  • Belly Breathing – group led followed by compliments to those who volunteered. (4 min)
  • Chime – to set intention. (1 min)
  • Volcano Breath – (send out your heart felt thoughts and/or a “wish” to someone you care about. Invite group members to share) (2 min)
  • Community Circle – (allow students to share if they would like) (5-10min)


  • Mat 10 – Draw on language to find support within ourselves and from those in our circle near or far. (10 min)
  • Mat Tag – Discuss after experience, hard or easy to follow instructions and take turns. (5 min)
  • Back Drawing – Form a circle so someone is in front of you. Using finger, draw on person’s back with group leader reading from script (ending with drawing a gift and then whispering to that person what the gift was). ( 10 min)


  • Relaxation – Boat ride (10 min)
