Yoga Calm Principle/Lesson Goal: Strength

Lesson Plan:

Purpose: to feel, identify and express feelings safely and appropriately

Materials: Lights/Chimes/Hoberman Sphere/Music/Lavender Spray

Calm

  • Chimes
  • Belly Breathing – with Hoberman Sphere: 10 breaths & think, “I am a strong, I am in control”
  • Ask a student to lead the group with the ball while another student counts
  • Close eyes and listen to stillness for 10 seconds
  • Ask the group to give a compliment to both students

Activate

  • Chair 15 – focus on Warrior 1
  • Harassment Prevention Activity

Calm

  • Shavasana/dim lights/spray lavender
  • Guided relaxation – Students imagine that they have the power and control to create their perfect day. Have them imagine where they are, who they are with and the feelings they have when successful. Build muscle relaxation and breathing into the guided relaxation.
