Yoga Calm Principle/Lesson Goal: Stillness

Lesson Plan:


  • Kite Mind – reach up and slowly pull in your kite mind to focus on your breath
  • Belly Breathing – using Breathing ball


  • Mountain pose
  • Volcano Breath
  • Forward Bend
  • Downward Dog
  • Lunge – Bent leg lunge (right leg back)
  • Downward Dog
  • Lunge – Bent leg lunge (left leg back)
  • Forward Bend
  • Roots
  • Tree pose – alternate tree in the wind and then still tree


  • Child pose – Back Breathing with a partner (the stillness of the breath in the back)
  • Twist – with belly breathing
  • Relaxation visualization – listen to your breath, relax more with each exhale, …now imagine your favorite color and picture yourself breathing that color in and out-(Stillness card) To end: let yourself be filled by that color and then surrounded by that color as you relax even more.
