Yoga Calm Principle/Lesson Goal: Stillness
Lesson Plan:
Calm
- Pinwheel Breath – You provide the wind, big breath through your noise and out your mouth. Without the wind (your breath) the pinwheels are still. After 5 breaths sit with your eyes closed and image a day with out any wind. A calm day.
Activate
- Me Moves -Ask a student to pick either focus, joy or calm. Pick 2 rounds.
- Star -Again, close your eyes; imagine the stillness of a night sky. There is no wind.
- Tree – (both sides): You can either open or close your eyes, but again, the tree is not moving.
- Cat/Cow – Inhale to cat, exhale to cow.
- Plank – Try your best to be still, find your strength here.
- Child’s Pose – Rest, be still, be sure to take care of you.
- Superman – Today your superpower is being still. You can be still at peace.
- Child’s Pose – Rest…what is that like for you, to rest? A quiet mind and body.
- Corpse Pose – Imagine here you are happy, calm and still. You know you will be okay. Find your confidence self.
