Lesson Plan:
Calm
- Belly Breathing – with Hoberman Sphere
- Tapping forehead/chest/belly with peer pushing shoulder to connect to where you feel grounded; try with saying “I am (their name)” vs. “I am (someone else)”; think something positive and true about themselves. Talk about what it means to feel grounded, what helped them feel grounded in this activity.
Activate
- Shoulder Clock – with partners
- Grounding Yoga Series:
- Include chair, mountain with roots, warrior II with past/present/future imagery standing poses
- Include boat and seated poses
- Include plank, cobra, bow, superhero poses on belly
- Timed tree
- Past, Present, and Future Worksheet
- Harassment Prevention Activity (if time)
Calm
- Guided Relaxation – including body scan and imagery
- Mindful Moments Cards and discussion
