Yoga Calm Principle/Lesson Goal: Grounding

Lesson Plan:


  • Volcano Breathing
  • Mindful Moment Cards – for grounding, under mat. Children read their card and explore for one minute. Brief discussion after.


  • Alternate Arm/Leg Kicks
  • Arm Swings – (adding in positive self-talk phrases, have poster up for kids to see)
  • Block Creek Activity
  • Yoga Poses – Boat pose, bow, bridge, cat/cow pose and tree pose (partner tree pose if time).


  • Twist
  • Child’s Pose
  • Relaxation – Relaxed belly breathing with Guided Relaxation -Magic Carpet Ride
