Yoga Calm Principle/Lesson Goal: Listening

Lesson Plan:

Calm

  • Chime
  • Belly Breathing – w/ hands on belly – “feel belly rising & falling w/ each breath”.

Activate

(Play music with nature sounds)

  • Activate/Relax Walk – “focus on what happens inside your body when you step”.
  • Upward Mountain/Crescent Moon – “expand from your heart”.
  • Forward Bend – “can you hear your breath?”
  • Downward Dog – “connect with the voice inside – what’s it saying?”
  • Alternate Arm/Leg Kicks – “feel the muscles in your belly hug together”.
  • Cobra – “shine light out from your heart- now absorb the light of others in room”.
  • Chair – “focus on your breathing – what’s it telling you?”
  • Tree – “you’re a tree in the forest – what other sounds can you hear?”
  • Twist – “place your hand on your heart – can you feel it beating?”
  • Exploring Feelings

Calm

  • Partner Back Breathing
  • Relaxation – “A walk in nature” guided relaxation.
