Yoga Calm Principle/Lesson Goal: Listening

Lesson Plan:

Calm

  • Belly Breathing – listen to your breath…focus on how it sounds when you breathe in as your belly fills up, and when you breathe out as your belly falls. What does it sound like to you?

Activate

  • Mountain to Mountain Flow – to the beat of the drum-listen carefully to the beat of the drum. Let’s try to hold our poses for a few beats, and then get into new poses to the sound of a few beats
  • Personal Space Activity – can you only listen with your ears? Or can you listen with your whole body? Let’s try this game to see how we can listen without having to use words. What are your friends telling you by using their body language?

Calm

  • Relaxation – Read: A Boy and a Bear while focusing on listening to your breath
